This is me…

… I don’t always take life seriously but I do love my photography!

I also love technology and gadgets.  I like to take things apart and rebuild them; radios, TVs, electric guitars, synthesisers, washing machines, computers, bicycles, hifi, Scalextric, cameras, model railways.  Occasionally I even get these working and back together again.

After studying for an MA in Social Science at Glasgow University, I was lucky enough to live and work on the Island of Iona for many years, during which time I had my own traditional darkroom and digital photographic restoration business. While living there I photographed and wrote a book: The Cloisters of Iona Abbey , my first commercial success.

In 2007 I went back to University (Derby) to study for a B. A. (Hons) in Commercial Photography, for which I was given a first. I was also pleased to be awarded Associate membership of the British Institute of Professional Photography, ABIPP, at the same time, based on my portfolio of work.  As I have now moved to the far North of Scotland I have allowed my BIPP membership to lapse.

It took nearly 25 years but I am now delighted to finally be a full-time photographer.
