Black and White – Collages by LuckDoesArt
In 1978 The Stranglers released their third studio album, “Black and White“, featuring hits “Nice ‘n Sleazy” and “Do You Wanna”. Inspired by the title of the album one of my graphic design clients, Mark Watkins of Luck Design Ltd., created a series of photographic collages based on the titles of the twelve songs on the album. Mark had tried to get these digitally copied a couple of times, with varying results, for an upcoming exhibition of his work. Even though I have moved out of the Derbyshire area, Mark sent the originals to me, carefully packed, so that I could produce very high-resolution images to meet his requirements.
I found the images quite wonderful to work with. It is not often that you see “old-school” photo-montage in these days of digital manipulation but the original works have a wonderful quality to them that makes me want to get out my scissors and glue!
To see more of Mark’s personal work go to his Luck Does Art website.
Here are a few of my favourites from the series.
