Deep Dark Mystery Fashion at Shottle Hall

Every now and then I get a notion just to photograph for no reason at all.  I was watching a drama performance and spotted a woman who I thought, “I bet she is a model”.  So I got in touch with Hope and yes she had done some modelling and would be willing to do something with me.  Eventually we found a date and then I got together a team and location.

Danielle Webster volunteered to loan some of her gowns and to make one specially for the shoot.  I posted ideas via Pinterest and she went away and started to sew.  Lizzie Fox (manager of Sally Montague Hair Group’s salon on Sadler Gate, Derby) came along to do hair and Marie Neville was on make-up.  The location was to be Shottle Hall in Derbyshire.

My ideas were based around dark, mystery, pre-Raphaelite paintings and big hair.  We shot mostly in a huge barn and a tumbledown building next door.  All a bit dusty but I was pleased with the results.
