Butterflies – a fashion collaboration
It is not everyday that I get the chance to be involved in the production process of the clothes that I will photograph but one student at Derby University has asked me to do just that. Hannah has an old family collection of mounted butterflies that is well over 50 years old and she wants to use these as the inspiration for her final fashion collection. Hannah asked me to photograph the butterflies for reference and then to prepare cut out versions that she will then use as laser cutting templates when designing the clothes. The exciting part for me is that I will see the whole precess through from the initial idea to the final photo shoot images. I have been thinking of something large scale in the landscape rom the shoot – watch this space!
