Over the next few days I am working with final year fashion students at Derby University photographing their collections in various locations around Derbyshire. One I am really looking forward to is on Saturday at Black Rocks, near Matlock. The collection, by Gemma Hughes, is based on photographs of Black Rocks which have been printed onto Lycra fabric and made up into simple shift dresses. My aim in photographing them is to create a sense of depth and movement with an overall surreal feel. If you take a look at the work of Storm Thorgerson you will get some idea of what I mean! More on this shoot next week.
